Linux Mint now with Cinnamon?

When we think of two great tastes that go together we don’t normally think of Cinnamon and Mint.  When it comes to naming stuff though we think it works.  The folks on the Linux Mint team have decided to take on creating their own window manager.  We at the least they are going to fork GNOME 3 and make it look more like GNOME 2 than Unity.  The team is going to keep the awesome new features of GNOME 3 but make it look and act more like a normal desktop OS instead of a touchscreen interface.  Yet another example of how opensource kicks closed sources butt.  I would like to see Windows 8 people fork a major part of their OS and make it look like what everyone is used to instead of Metro.  A cool recap of the press release can be found here.
