A few weeks back Jonathan Corbet at LWN.net wrote a recap of a presentation by Josh Berkus about how to destroy your community.  Josh does a great job of pointing out all of the common issues and ways that people kill a good community.  If your company is currently or planning on doing any community supported projects this is a great quick read to help you keep on the straight and narrow.
