We have talked about open source licensing both on the website, and on the pod cast in the past.  Here is a great article from linuxinsider that gives some tips on how to get started setting up some policies to use open source software.  Even if you have already started using open source software in your IT department, having some of these policies in place will make it easier for everyone to understand and get things accomplished.
