Mark Shuttleworth the founder and the voice behind Ubuntu will step down as the CEO of Canonical turning over the reigns to Jane Silber the current COO. Mr. Shuttleworth will not be leaving the company but moving to focus on his passions and let Jane Silber focus on the commercial enterprise. The article found here explains that he will be linux Linus is for the Kernel. He will focus on being technical and design issues. This should allow the company to become more commercial and still maintain the community focus as it has in the past. So I now expect to see more stuff about using Ubuntu on corporate front. This has been an area they haven’t been able to make significant strides into against the incumbents of Red Hat and Novell. Should be interesting to watch.
