Is Linux ready for Newer Hard Drives?

Was doing some reading today and found an article discussing some possible issues that some users may encounter when utilizing some of the newer hardware that is available.  Some new hard drives are using 4096-byte sectors as opposed to the older 512-byte sectors.  The author, Timothy Miller goes through some tests and shows the performance hits that some users may run into by using normal tools.

Check out the article here to make sure you don't run into any issues with your distro.
